The Film You Are About to See by Haley Newlin
It's 1959 in a rural Indiana town, and the local drive-in is hosting their first-ever Dusk Til Dawn Spooktacular!

And they've got a Percepto surprise in store for the audience, complete with vomit bags, nurses on staff, and a hearse parked just beneath the monsters onscreen.

But June has a strange sense about things. Always has. And as the screams spread through the parking lot, reality and theatrics begin to blur for her and her friends. Is it just a gimmick, or is something lurking amongst the moviegoers?

Character Notes:

June - about 18 years old, soft spoken but passionate when she talks about horror. Midwest accent

Ingrid - about 18 years old, I always imagined her sort of like Rizzo from Grease but a bit sweeter. Midwest accent

Stef - about 18 years old goofy, the most outgoing of the girls. Peppy. Midwest accent

The Creature - a strange anomaly. I’d love to capture the 1950s sort of showmanship in this. Think William Castle, Vincent Price, Rod Serling

Nancy Jackson - a young woman accused of witchcraft. I imagine her soft spoken like June. Timid until pushed. Midwest

Vincent - about 18 years old (you guessed it, named after Vincent Price). I always imagined him as a bit of a greaser but with less of the toxic masculinity. Danny Zuko meets James Dean. Sort of the group leader

Lenny - about 18 years old. Sporty and strong. He’s quieter than Arthur. Midwestern accent

Arthur - about 18 years old playful. Aloof. Midwestern accent

William - about 16 years old. Shy.

Innocent. Midwestern accent

Officer Reed - big bellowing voice. Middle aged. Based on rural Indiana stereotypes but his accent wouldn’t be quite southern
