Abbie: elementary school teacher, mom of Tucker. She's strong willed, but yet broken.
Dane: office worker, not a "manly man." He's the husband of Abbie and father of Tucker.
Tucker: 10 year old boy and an only child. He's smart, yet frightened.
Lucas: Abbie's brother and a junkie. Has done a lot of illegal things to get his fix.
Rhys: a detective that tries to help, but follows the wrong leads.
Henry Waltz: a local well-to-do business man that gets what he wants. He pays off the police and is able to do a lot of awful things because no one believes he's a bad guy.
